How Outbuy collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit outbuy.io or contact us.

Last updated 17 October 2026

Who we are

This privacy policy explains how Outbuy ("we", "us") handles personal data collected through this website. We act as the data controller for that data. If you have any questions, contact us at privacy@outbuy.io.

When we build or run systems for a client, we usually process the client's customer data on their behalf as a data processor. That processing is governed by our agreement with the client, not by this policy.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you book a demo, start onboarding, apply for a role or email us, we collect what you choose to share. This typically includes:

  • your name, work email, company and country
  • details about your channels, systems and priorities
  • for job applications, your role interest, portfolio or profile link and message
  • anything else you include in a message

Information collected automatically

When you browse the site we may collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device, pages visited and referring site. We use this to keep the site secure and to understand, in aggregate, how it is used.

Saved onboarding answers

The onboarding form saves your progress in your own browser's local storage so you can return later. This stays on your device until you submit the form or clear your browser data.

How we use it

  • to reply to your enquiry and arrange calls
  • to prepare proposals and deliver services you ask for
  • to assess job applications
  • to operate, secure and improve this website
  • to send occasional updates, only where you have agreed or where the law allows, with an easy way to opt out

We rely on your consent, on steps you ask us to take before entering a contract, on our legitimate interest in running and improving our business, and on legal obligations, as applicable.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies that are needed for the site to work. With your consent where required, we may also use analytics cookies to measure visits and improve content. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business, such as hosting, email, analytics and recruitment tools, under contracts that require them to protect it. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

International transfers

Our team and providers may be located in different countries. When personal data moves across borders, we use appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.

Retention

We keep enquiry and proposal data for as long as needed to respond and to manage any resulting relationship, and job applications for a limited period after the process ends unless you ask us to keep them longer. We then delete or anonymise the data.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including access controls and encryption. Read more on our security page.

Your rights

Under the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) where it applies, and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where it applies, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you
  • correct inaccurate data
  • ask us to delete your data
  • object to or restrict certain processing
  • receive your data in a portable format
  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing
  • complain to your local data protection authority

To use any of these rights, email privacy@outbuy.io. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
